Google Fighting Back

Google bans CO.CC

Google bans CO.CC

In the recent weeks, we have seen Google making updates on their search algorithms i.e. to discourage having back links to websites that have useless or no information at all in return. This means, SEO companies will now have to work a lot harder in getting their quality contents up in order for their Google rankings to be anywhere near the top.

We have also seen free sub-domain services including the whole of co.cc, cz.cc and uni.cc being de-indexed from Google searches. So what does all of this mean in terms of the title of this post? The reason why I've put "Google Fighting Back" is the huge and huge numbers of websites that do not have any usefulness in their contents, but instead, you might see spam and back links.

So, why do I think this is Google fighting back? Well it is simple. This will make "lazy" SEO companies and marketers think twice about back-links which could hurt their ranking.
Web host will have to be extra care whom and what they host on their servers. The reason for this is Google is starting to demote websites who have bad neighbourhood that allows spam and malicious activity to continue on the same web hosts as the offending website.

Spam links on e-mails should be a lot less because the links that are on the e-mails would link to a website and eventually to its originator website. Most of these spams are generated through free services such as free web host and free sub-domain. So, while all these offending free services are de-indexed, this should discourage a lot of spams coming through and to think twice on what they link. Of course, they could pay money to buy extra domains and web host, but the question, is would they and would they risk it?

As a result of all this change, I have moved myself to paid web host and a paid domain, even though I do not get a lot of visitors nor am I a SEO genius.
